1,200 kids have dedicated three months to getting healthier in order to raise funds
in order to free other kids to play. The Adrian Freedom Festival will recognize
contributions raised by the students’ efforts which will be allocated to three organizations
through Free2Play, which are the following:
- David Batstone’s Not For Sale Campaign (global beneficiary);
- ProMedica Health System’s Toledo Children’s Hospital (regional beneficiary);
and
- Homeless Education Programs of Lenawee County (local beneficiary).
100 percent of the funds raised through Free2Play’s
Adrian Freedom Festival will be allocated to the above three organizations.
Free2Play is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization
known as PEAK Institute, Inc. (DBA “Tridoma”); therefore, all donations are tax-deductible.
Donations are made to Tridoma – Free2Play through the Gray Institute (“Payment
Agent”) and the Lenawee Community Foundation’s “Tridoma – Free2Play Fund”
(“Holding Agent”), which is also a 501(c)(3) organization.
David Batstone's Not For Sale Campaign
Not For Sale Campaign, whose founder and president is David Batstone, is comprised
of students, entrepreneurs, artists, people of faith, athletes, law enforcement
officers, politicians, social workers, skilled professionals, and all justice seekers,
all united to put an end to the global slave trade.
Not For Sale Campaign not only educates, but also mobilizes an international abolitionist
movement through the innovation and implementations of open-source activism. In
the United States, the campaign utilizes funds raised to identify trafficking rings
and collaborate with local law enforcement and community groups to shut the trafficking
rings down, as well as provide support for the victims. Internationally, the campaign
partners directly with abolitionist groups to enhance their capacity, efficiency,
and effectiveness in putting an end to modern-day slavery.
YOUR donation will go directly to a project in Peru called “Generation,” which focuses
on kids that have been taken from their homes, have run away, and/or have been abused.
“Generation” prevents these kids from being trafficked, as well as removes these
kids from various crisis situations. Your donation will also go to supporting the
construction of an emergency shelter and a vocational center, as well as to a program
that creates an environment where these kids can learn to surf – where these kids
can be free to play.

ProMedica Health System's Toldeo Children's Hospital
Toledo Children’s Hospital, a member of ProMedica Health System, is a 151-bed hospital
dedicated to exclusively serving the needs of kids and adolescents. More importantly,
Toledo Children’s Hospital provides child-specific care designed individually for
each and every child. It is the region’s only fully-accredited hospital exclusively
serving children and providing of the highest quality of care to patients and families.
YOUR donation will let kids be free to play even while they are in the hospital
by helping to enhance the “child life” area. For children of all ages, we would
like to improve our patient play areas, our video and computer game systems, and
expand our children’s library so they can still be kids even when they are in the
hospital.

Homeless Education Programs of Lenawee County
Homeless Education Programs of Lenawee County do more for the 300+ “homeless” kids
in Lenawee County than what is imaginable. The programs assist kids (ages 3 through
those in the 12th grade) and their families. These include situations where kids
are living in shelters, motels, campgrounds, cars, and other outside places, as
well as where kids are doubled up with family or friends due to lack of housing
or income.
Homeless Education Programs of Lenawee County enroll kids in school without
the normal records required. Students are allowed to remain in the school they attended
before they became homeless and transportation to and from that school are provided.
The Homeless Education Program also provides necessary school supplies, shoes, clothes,
free meals, sporting equipment, as well as provides means for camps … and the list
goes on. A primary focus, apart from getting and keeping kids in school, is to provide
housing for kids.
YOUR donation will go directly to the Homeless Housing Fund and
the General Homeless Fund in order to meet the needs of and provide opportunities
to the homeless kids in Lenawee County! Beth McCullough, Homeless Education Program
Coordinator for Lenawee County, says, “I know the reality of homeless children is
a difficult, heart-wrenching issue – but there are good things happening out there!
There are great people running great programs.”
